Popeye Classic #39

Variant artist: Pat Dorian.

Popeye, the beloved swab, is back! Bud Sagendorf, the long time assistant to Popeye’s creator Elzie Segar, took all the great chops from his boss and added more spinach and surrealism for a heady and hilarious mix!

This 39th issue boasts these features: “Birdseed’s Bug BIte”, Popeye, Wimpy and Swee'Pea in a 25-page pot-boiler “The Mountain That Talked Back!, “Get the Ball, Birdseed!” and “Cow!” There’s O.G. Whatsnozzle in “What Did He Say?” plus yet another comic with the One-Eye Sailor and his Boy Kid, Swee’Pea!
